REN SHAO'S BIOGRAPHY

Born in Shanghai, China in 1948, her father REN wei yin is a prominent artist in China. But Ren Shao started art quite late. In 1981 her grand-uncle sponsored her to the united states to study. Four years later, she graduated from New York F.I.T textile design. After school, she worked in the garment industry for years, and later started self-employed in panel design and women's wear design. Currently, she is full-time commitment to Fine Arts.

In China, Shanghai, during the early 1950’s Ren Shao’s father had a private teaching studio called "Eastern Painting Studio". It had a very high reputation and lasted from the beginning of 1953 to 1960. Finally, it forced to closed and the whole family had been re-moved to a far northwest of china the "Re-education Label Farm". At that time, she was twelve. This experience has stunned her since. If being an artist was so hard, she didn't want to be. But, when van gogh's vibrant brush strokes, picasso’s giant creativity, and matisse's rainbow color pallets fill in her heart, when her father’s past surffering hits her from time to time, She picked up the brushes ten years ago.
